Soundview was out with a call about a delay (already known) in the SAP front office release to 2Q 99. Full functionality not due until q4 1999 at the earliest.

however, only chuck philips of morgan stanley (and the investment community in general with no real industry experience) think the erp/backoffice guys will be a real threat in front office.

SAP is toast in the front office, they don't have the domain expertise and the need for integration with the back office is modest and readily done for a non SAP solution.

In addition, I think the folks at alex brown mentioned something about sebl kicking ass again this quarter. Gee, what a surprise except to those analysts that downgraded the stock for beating expectations by such a small amount.

(I actually think not beating expectations by the usual amount was a smart thing for the company to do, since they minimize the risks of getting caught in a momentum trap.)
