funk,

Don't worry, guns are puts away<g>. Most of the time I trade NYSE stocks and can see the size of the bids and offers clearly. Most of the time I will pay the asked price for entry on a stock that I want to get in on, but I follow the same stocks day in and day out. I do look for when the specialist is having to open up a tight spread with momentum building and can usually get out at the ask price by puting in a sell on the way up. If I want to bid the stock either from a standpoint of position trading or TA, then I am willing to let the stock come to me. In the NAZ, I use a lot of inbetweens like 32nds&64ths to enter or exit when its banging around which has worked ok for me. Also in trading from TA intraday support and resistance, I place either buys or sells at pre determined points which can be filled rather quickly on the way up or down. I don't do that many trades a day, but look for a couple of high percentage plays that can give me a fair return or small loss. I do agree that your system is a lot faster in execution than what I am currently using and will be looking to try it out, if only for the redundancy of being able to trade and protect current open positions. Also does MB offer instinet or premarket trading, that alone would make it worthwhile to use the system. I have used Brown for a lot of years, but the Great Game keeps on changing. Will check out MB in the future.

Good Trading

Dave

< If you want to sell a stock you will get the bid price, your limit order will never fill if it is above the bid unless the bid comes to it >

Not true. If you specify a limit order (sell) at the ask (through a discounter) the MM has to reflect the order. While day trading (with direct access to ECN's, MM, Selectnet, ...) I've entered orders via phone for a friend through their discount broker (who routes to NITE). I've watched NITE show up at the specified price as soon as it's cleared through their system. Now, I'll agree that it may take a couple minutes for NITE to show up if you're going through a discounter. And anyone who has access to ISLD, INCA, ATTN, TNTO directly can beat them in getting their order out there.
