Japan phone specs:

Looking at the timing of 3000 announcement and the design time
required for phones etc. it may be that the phones you mention
use the previous generation of ASIC. Since 3000 enables much longer
standby with smaller batteries, wouldn't be surprised if next
generation of Japanese (and other) phones using 3000 offer
significantly longer standby (over 150 hrs?) with smaller size
(sub 80g?) CDMAOne phones.
