Thanh, See techstocks.com for an explanation of 90/10. It is about calls, but the same principles work for puts.

I think you should only buy calls on issues that you really like for the long haul and on which you expect at least a quadruple in your premium. The market may crash before you make any gains on shorter term stuff. Take the tax losses and try 90/10 instead of shorting. It is much safer.
