shane,

I agree that the sale price doesn't sound like a 'premium' on the future sales of Ascend except for the fact that you would be getting paid now for the future performance. This time premium means that you can take the gain now and potentially not share in any pain if the market was to correct again by driving the stock down. Don't get me wrong I like Ascend on their own and I would prefer that they continue on their own unless a major player like Lucent pays dearly to acquire their best of breed technology. That is only fair to current share holders and I feel that Mory will not accept some form of take under. This company isn't on the brink of collapse and therefore they can dictate their own terms much better than one who is tettering on survival.

Cheers,

Steve

I agree, ASND's growth in telecom networking equipment and the growth of the internet is almost priceless....well, I'll take $150 for my shares. Computers will be everywhere, they will all be networked, there will be am enormous amount of stored information over the net, it will be the foundation for business and the way people do everyday activities, and ASND will profit, among others. The only other huge growth industry that I can think of (over the next 20 years) is biotechnology (specifically bioinformatics, genomics, molecular genetics, and applied biochemistry). Tip of the iceberg. Cheers
