Microsoft's intentions of dropping Java from WebTV has been rumored for a week or so. My opinion is that all the technical analysts, columnists, and writers simply "do not get it." Here is what I think - remembering, of course, that I have been wrong more than right. (1) WebTV is already dead and will be totally abandoned by Microsoft. Sun is killing them with Java. (2) Dropping Java from WebTV is Microsoft's way of testing the market place. (3) Sun will win the first important stage of the Sun-Java vs Microsoft court case. Microsoft will be ordered by the judge - via a temporary injunction - to either conform with Sun's Java in the Windows OS or abandon it. (4) Look for a court ruling by November 17, 1998. (5) Microsoft will totally abandon Java and will reissue Windows 98 without it. As I said, I have been wrong more than right, but I think this is a very logical scenario. christoph, the post i sent u was a priv. msg since it was off topic for this thread. You don't read your private msg? what i said was that I was very impressed by your ability to pick sunw targts but your TA language is rather Greek to me. I want to learn about triangles and flags etc.. I was wondering if your can do similar study for me on Dell. It has done nothing for my wallet this week. I know all this probalby takes time but it is very imporatant. Any way if you do dell study for me and reply to my private msg, you will find it worth your time to have studied dell. thank you.
