Roger,
I am very much a perma bear and that really hurts. I was very good in bottom fishing where there is less stress and more gain. I did short too much too early last week and need to buy some calls or get out some of my shorts next week. The fear of crash gives me the tendency to sell longs with half the profits and then sell short too soon. I think market always give plenty of time like 1 or 2 days of signal before any crash (if put a stop loss in), so I can join the bulls now and avoid all those mistakes.
Regards

OT - as a long-term participant here, could I please make a suggestion? Why don't you start a "Roger's Lets Talk Politics" thread for those who are interested and confine this thread to shorting stocks? I realize that some political developments are relevant to shorting, but trying to get through this thread now is like an evening with talk radio.

Some of us are just looking for good discussion on shorting. Thanks.

Roger,

I agree 100%. This is a "toppys/tervy" market...smells alot like early 1987. Caution is the key.
