Let me provide an alternative view.

1. The Republican party will focus on the core issues of the party - tax cuts and smaller government. They will stand up and defend these issues. If we loose so what - winning without purpose is meaningless. To this end a budget will be passed early and defended.

2. In parallel with policy the Impeachment of the President will go on in the background with vigor. It will be left to the judiciary committee while the rest of the Congress moves ahead with work.

I look forward to the change and the debate of real issues. I feel these issues are proven winners and there will be a Republican sweep in 2000. Failing this change it would have been a democratic president and house with a Republican Senate.
