There have been so many claims of terabit router. So far, none of
them delivered. All those claims on the hardware, what about
software go along with it. For an ISP to qualify a system with a
package of software runs on it takes anywhere from 6 month to 9 month.

Big claims result in big failures. Claims unless those backed by ISP
come and go. If you foolish enough to believe them, you are in for
big trouble. As far as I see, in high router space, Cisco and Juniper
are only two have the products and selling.

Cheer!
Mike

Jerk,

From the same article, you conveniantly left this part out:

"And in a highly technical and product-support-dominated market like the router industry, being a hungry startup confers a competitive advantage only up to the point when the product is ready to ship. At that time sales, marketing, and customer service have to kick in -- areas in which technology startups like Nexabit are often light. As Mr. Passimore puts it, "Who is AT&T going to trust more: a startup, or an established company like Cisco or Lucent?"

"Cisco has learned through the school of hard knocks how to tune all of this stuff," Mr. Passimore adds. "The thing that I've learned is that the best technology doesn't win -- marketing and sales win."

Here's the URL for those interested in the whole article:

Netstar Inc, purchased by Ascend Communications a year or two ago, claimed to have the same.
