In the Summer of 1997 I had lunch with a communications consultant friend of mine who had just returned from a project with a major oil company whose name starts with an "M".
He told me that their approach to fixing the Y2K problem was to assemble a team of 25 programers to develop a "in house tool" to fix their hundreds of millions of LOC.
It was funny then.......now I find it a tad scary.
