The Y2k window will not close for several more years. The Y2k problem is only a symptom of the bigger problem, namely that the code is broken. COBOL needs to be replaced with a more flexible application development system. I|Nova is such a system. I|Nova needs some sales to generate a broader base of interest and users. This interest and use of the I|Nova System will come in the months and years ahead. Veronex is a software company with a Y2k solution. Veronex's I|Nova System is a software tool with many uses besides solving the Y2k problem. The Y2k solution market will grow as systems failures are announced. When any reports of a complete system Y2k fix has been tested and certified as Y2k compliant, then the Y2k market will start to be closing. The Y2k problem is a complete system problem that involves the hardware, operating system, applications systems, and interactive systems. Further, the compilers must also be located and fixed. The fact that end users are not announcing complete repair and compliance should be of some concern to all of us. Not one of the Dow 30 Industrials has announced completion of Y2k repairs. Just the opposite is true. Get the Bear Stearns July 13, 1998 Highlights report and notice that 12 of the Dow 30 have estimated that their costs will exceed $1,152,000,000 for Y2k repair and only four have even started. The four who have started Y2k repair have only spent about $150,000,000 as of the report date. Now do a linear extrapolation of the these cost estimates to repair the Y2k. The Global 2000 alone could have in excess of may Billions yet to spend on Y2k repairs based on this data. The Y2k market has been slow to develop, but has a fixed deadline of Dec. 31, 1999 to be completed and must be completed or the system will fail. Veronex has a complete end-to-end solution for Y2k repairs. If an enterprise can not located all of its source code then the I|Nova System can migrate the applications to the I|Nova development system. The market is there and the market is growing as time passes.
