Chuzzle, One of my assumptions was that one would have a hold, and don't sell strategy. Just as in any analysis, if you drop a necessary assmuption, then the conclusions will change. As a side-point, if we are to assume that stock prices have the Markovian property, then you are wrong, and a buy and hold strategy gives a higher return when compared to a trading strategy for stocks drawn from a common probability distribution. Cheers
