So would lots of companies, like IBM. That's why they will
keep giving it a try. One big problem UNIX has had is that
it's been far ahead of DOS/WinXX, that they felt unthreated.

Now, UNIX forces are forced to consolidate. A whole lot of
$$ for any company that can find the secret to compete
against MSFT successfully. I think LINUX is also giving
some companies encouragement. If nothing else, LINUX is
a totally different way to deveop/distribute software, so
some will look at the lessons to be learned. Of course,
MSFT will look at those lessons, and will improve their
own situation accordingly. IMO, MSFT has way too many
smart people to be threatened. If anything, MSFT has
a monopoly on smart people. DOJ should investigate that:-)
