My pick is Valence Technology (NASDAQ: VLNC). Something is up with that stock. No news and the stock has been climbing from the $4 range just a couple weeks ago.

This is what they do:
Valence is engaged in research and development to produce advanced rechargeable batteries based upon lithium ion and polymer technologies. The Company's objective is to become a leading provider of rechargeable batteries. The Company announced in July 1995, that it had obtained a license to a plastic lithium battery technology from Bell Communications Research, Inc. ("Bellcore"). Since that time, the Company has been working to integrate the Bellcore technology with its own lithium polymer battery technology. At the same time, the Company has continued the redesign and modifications to its manufacturing equipment in Northern Ireland to support the potential future commercial introduction of this new battery design.

Disclaimer: (Not that we need a disclaimer on SI)
I don't own any. I think the company is interesting. It's just a contest pick, so if you buy any, and you lose money, don't blame me.

Anil,

I picked up more TALK this week and will hold, but the pick for this week will be FLYR.

Top ten reason's for picking FLYR, most of this data comes from Yahoo:

10. Strong volume the past week with upwards pressure.
9. Sells off on low volume.
8. Small float, 13 million shares outstanding with 2 million share
float.
7. 300,000 shares short, looking for a squeeze.
6. Book value 8.76 with current price of 6.25, enough said there.
5. Strong insider buying the past 6 months, many between
$8 - $9 a share.
4. Pushed through resistance on Friday before retreat on low volume.
3. On October 23, announced a 10% buyback.
2. Low p/e of 15 with 50% projected growth next year along with
3 Strong Buy and 1 Moderate Buy rating.
1. I'm in at avg. price of $5.5 and am way overdue for a double.

Good trading all, hope this one works out.

My pick for the week is DELL. After looking at
the charts of the few stocks that I follow,
I feel that DELL is the one that is ready
for a move. It has been consolidating
around the current price for more than a week.

Cue Cheeky Kid to warn about high PE and
astronomical market cap.
