News from France,TESAM In Globalstar Pact With France Telecom Mobiles

PARIS (Dow Jones)--French mobile telephone service provider TESAM said Friday that it has signed a roaming agreement with France Telecom Mobiles, giving all subscribers to the latter's Itineris service access to the Globalstar national and international networks.

France Telecom Mobiles is a subsidiary of France Telecom (FTE), while TESAM,51%-owned by France Telecom with the remainder held by Alcatel (ALA), is an exclusive provider of Globalstar services in 31 countries.

The Globalstar network is owned by U.S.-based Globalstar Telecommunications Ltd. (GSTRF). It will offer a worldwide digital communications service via a network of 48 satellites when it begins commercial operations in the third quarter of 1999.
