I don't have a single url which lays this out, but digging around in the IDC and dataquest numbers gives me a rough swag of the whole PC market at less than $80B in 1997.

There is some debate on how to figure 'the high end'. conservative estimates place S390 class systems at about $20B, AS400 $15B, high-end UNIX about $60B, other proprietary high-end systems $10B, non-pc Intel-based systems about $45B.
