THE SECRET POLICE, INTIMIDATION, DEATH THREATS AND FILEGATE
By: Bob Momenteller
Bill Clinton's secret police was formed in early 1992 when he was running for the Presidency. Indeed, Dick Morris has stated that as far back as 1992, the Clinton campaign used private investigators, at U.S. taxpayers' expense, to obtain private and embarrassing information to coerce and extort the silence of women sexually involved with President Clinton while he was Governor of Arkansas. The secret patrol was established to threaten, buy, or otherwise disarm scores of women who have had sexual encounters with Clinton. The campaign used private investigators in an extensive operation that would be joked about at the time, but later would be seen as a form of blackmail as well as psychological and physical intimidation. Terry Lenzner and Paul Begala would head this brigade along with mobsters, Nathan Landow and Richard Ben-Veniste. Other private investigators used as silencers, would be hired on a case by case basis under sub-contractual arrangements. What was dubbed as the Bimbo patrol, soon became far more sinister. As time went on, the Secret police would be called to duty on anyone who posed a threat against the administration.
In a Judicial Watch deposition, Lenzner confirmed that he had investigated perceived Clinton adversaries, including members of the media, public interest groups and even members of the judiciary. Lenzner has, in fact, been investigating these perceived adversaries of the President. A report in the San Francisco Examiner directly linked Lenzner to the recent dissemination of private information smearing House Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde.
In 1993, Former Miss Arkansas Sally Perdue goes on the Sally Jesse Raphael Show and says she had an affair with Bill Clinton. After the TV show, Perdue says she was visited by a man who described himself as a Democratic Party operative and who warned her not to reveal specifics of the affair. "He said there were people in high places who were anxious about me and they wanted me to know that keeping my mouth shut would be worthwhile. Perdue says she later found a shotgun cartridge on the driver's seat of her Jeep and had her back window shattered.
We also learn in 1997 , that Gennifer Flowers reports that after her revelations, she had received death threats and that her house was ransacked.
Monica Lewinsky tells Linda Tripp over the phone, "See, my mom's big fear is that he's going to send somebody out to kill me."
In 1998, Linda Tripp is sequestered in an FBI safe house because of threats against her life.
Prior to her testimony in the Clinton investigation, Kathleen Willey claims that the tires on her car were mysteriously punctured with dozens of nails and the cat she had for many years suddenly disappeared. Reports ABC's Jackie Judd, "Then just days before she testified in the Paula Jones lawsuit in early January, Willey was out jogging near her home when a stranger approached her. . .The man knew what had happened at her home and that he asked her if the tires had been fixed and if the cat had been found." The man then allegedly asked Willey, 'Don't you get the message?' and jogged off."
Elizabeth Ward Gracen, star of a new hit TV show and former Miss America, claims the secret police waged a campaign of terror that scared the hell out of her…. "Yes, I was physically scared. We are talking about the presidency of the country here, and between the friendly calls on one hand telling me to get out of town for my own good and then talking about smear tactics on the other, I got scared. Yes, physically scared. "There were always veiled threats. Always. I did nothing wrong except one stupid night a long time ago. But now this last year has become very frightening." FILEGATE
In 1993 the Clinton White House obtained the FBI files of Billy Dale, the former head of the White House Travel Office, and Barney Brasseux, a White House Travel Office employee. These files were obtained by the Clinton White House shortly after Mr. Dale, a twenty-year veteran of the White House Travel Office, Mr. Brasseux, and several other employees of the White House Travel Office were fired by the Clinton White House to allow their replacement with personal friends of the Little Rock-based World Wide Travel Office. Around the same time, numerous press reports were circulating about illegal drug use and improper sexual conduct among White House staffers. In an effort to discredit these rumors, the Clinton White House also obtained over 900 FBI background investigation files on former Reagan and Bush Administration appointees and employees. A key central figure in obtaining these files was Craig Livingstone. Livingstone, a former bar bouncer was in charge of White House security. As of this writing, no one knows who hired this thug.
It was at this time that the Scorch the Earth Policy was developed. This strategy refers to the late FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover's and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy's successful efforts to collect and use FBI files to blackmail Republican members of Congress to prevent an investigation into President John F. Kennedy's affair with an East German spy, Ellen Rometsch.
The files would be used to discredit and destroy perceived adversaries, or simply to intimidate them. Linda Tripp admitted to having witnessed FBI files on former Reagan and Bush Administration. Linda Tripp was shaken by White House dishonesty during investigations of Vince Foster's death, Filegate, Travelgate, and reports of drug abuse among administration employees. "It's chilling," she says, "to watch high government officials lie under oath."
Ironically, Linda Tripp's FBI file information made the news in the March 23, 1998 edition of the New Yorker. They reported a twenty one year old arrest record of Tripp that failed to show up on her a security clearance form. The article written by Jane Mayer, who turns out to be a former colleague of Sidney Blumenthal and a close friend of the Clintons. No journalist questioned how Tripp's confidential files ended up in the New Yorker. Instead, all the papers dutifully reported on her arrest and her lack of candor in reporting it. The White House secret police have struck again.
Sidney Blumenthal, media director for the White House has been charged by the Ether Zone in an exclusive article, The Impeachment of Salon Magazine, of orchestrating the Henry Hyde story for Salon Magazine. The Zone alleges that Blumenthal, gave key FBI file information to David Talbot (Editor of Salon) on Henry Hyde's 30 year old affair extra-marital affair to compile their story.
