WDC, COMS, BKS LZB, ANCC, CREE, TXCC,NMGC,XEIKY,ANLT.. possible (intermediate/long term holds)

WDC's chart is excellent every indicator is bullish and showing it in a strong upward trend.. It was up 67% already this month, but I still think it is overbought. Any retreat would create a buying opportunity.

COMS. I like more.. From what I saw those that abandoned COMS to start their company have already a hit on their hands and COMS now doesn't. COMS has so many things coming on their pipeline.

1) 3Com and Bull announced a solution that will enable network service
providers (NSPs) to connect their 3Com Total Control multiservice access platforms to the telephone trunk network. The solution should enable NSPs to offer data, voice and fax services on their existing data infrastructure.

2)· Separately, 3Com announced the StorageConnect Fibre Channel line ofStorage Area Network (SAN) products, which it plans to introduce in early1999. 3Com estimates the Fibre Channel SAN market will increase from $250 million today to $1.5 billion in 2002.FIber Analysts predict a big future for the technology. IT should be very needed in the next decade as customers always want better storage solutions.

3) Their NIC's will probably be used by more computer manufacturers and they still have lions share of the market.

Technicals: COMS up 30% this month with a very good chart that shows it is under accumulation (up/down volume patterns and NOT just the volume increase) MACD and Relative Strength all bullish and this one doesn't look overbought.. I would probably include this in a long/intermediate term
I had BKS on my watch list a few days ago and was surprised and disappointed it was down. I think now that it agreed to buy ingram Books which also happens to be the largest distributor of
wholesale books in the country. They will get 11 new distributionship centers which will enable BKS to extend their reach to 80% of the country. BKS says it will start to be accretive to earnings in 1999. With this I like BKS now more as a intermediate/long term hold and it should give stiff competition to AMZN.

LZB.. probably made a mistake to sell this one. The company is improving their gross margins by 13%. I used lots of research to buy and post this company then because it's down 1/2 point two days in a row I sold it..

.La-Z-Boy is continuing to expand its distribution network. The company currently has 229 freestanding Furniture Gallery stores (approx. 15,000 sq feet) with 23 in the process of being opened
before the end of fiscal 1999. In-store galleries (which measure at least 5,000 sq feet) total 293, which brings La-Z-Boy's total
dedicated selling space to 5.1m square feet.

Technicals: LZB's chart is still improving although it's relative strength is still bearish. Volume indicators (percentage volume on up days above percentage on down days) with volume slope up. Moving averages are all rising and bullish and the relative strength for the year is a resounding 92. I did not like the fact that its price was under 20 1/2 which is support although I see a little difference between support and resistance which is unly about 20 7/8. I will consider rebuying this one for a longer term portfolio.
