I went to the local Office Depot this afternoon. Took time to see how many SparQ drives and media they actually had in stock.

They had two SparQ drives and two 3-packs of disks.

The "computer guy" there wasn't even aware SyQuest had kicked the bucket and traveled to Valhala. He was surprised but then told me it made sense because of what had happened:

He told me that about a week ago, management had taken most of the disks and drives in stock and had sent them back to SyQuest, but as far as he knew, and as indicated on the prices on the drives and disks still in stock (all two of them), that Office Depot had no intention of dropping prices on the drives or the media.
