I agree with your comments. IMO the timing issue for implementing
VoIP is critical. Chambers has a vested interest in pushing
routing of packets vs. circuit switching.

As far as WCII is concerned, the more important issue to sign up
customers and execute their plan as fast as possible. TGNT will be
a formidable competitor and their current ads are pushing the FUD
factor for prospective business clients. (FUD refers to Fear,
Uncertainty and Doubt which IBM sales people used to scare off customers considering switching from big iron to minicomputers.)

VoIP, routing and circuit switching are important implementation
details for WCII and the industry. Over time these technical issues will be handled with the help of knowledgable consultants. IMO there is no overnight revolution likely to take place. Rapid evolution is more likely as products, pipes and tools are introduced and proven to be reliable, efficient and of good value.

Re Sirois, yes he did look uncomfortable with the "voice will be free" question.
