Did all of you recover from the recent outbreak of Dipytheria? You know the symptoms, Brinker envy, bearishness turning to boorishness, rudeness to fellow posters, etc. Well, thankfully, Dipytheria is only a short term condition and soon leaves when you recieve frequent doses of Brinker medicine. I am also sure the following post will make you feel better if you are still suffering some residual effects. How sweet it is! Jeff

Well, if the Dow manages to stay above 7300 tomorrow, I guess he will be back with the usual talk about "benchmark lows" and such stuff.

All of which is total nonsense, really -- if one realizes that the "Big Bear of 1998" is already here, has been with us for a while, and has erased all the marks! As for the bench, well, the grizzly has smashed it to matchsticks... long ago!

Marc and all: ** A Tax Loss Trade for UTEKians **

I like the idea of selling UTEK and buying PLAB for the wash sale period and then going back to UTEK or staying with PLAB. PLAB is a mask maker which should at least double from its current price of $18 and change during the cycle. There is some crossover between the two as PLAB has purchased an Ultrabeam from UTEK and is looking to put it into production. PLAB just preannounced and went from $22 to $18 and change currently. So it has limited downside with the potential for a positive cc outlook coming later this month. PLAB is now at a price where it traded before this correction when hit with any bad news. It is priced at around what UTEK sells for so it is as close to a crossover as anyone is going to get. Food for thought.

Sounds like Vice Chair Rivlin is on board for a rate cut. I'm sure the monetarists will need to be dragged along kicking and screaming with the robust money growth
