THC : I'll tell you something that, perhaps, you hadn't thought about concerning Y2K.

It is going to be a veritable "open season" for every kind of money scam imaginable. LTCM will look like chicken-feed. There will also be a proliferation of computer viruses of all kinds and every "two bit computer expert" will try to get into the act. Companies and individuals will spend untold fortunes attempting to "correct" their systems. Whatever happens will be blamed on Y2K --- whether it is due to Y2K or not. No-one will know what is going on. No-one will be held responsible. Billions will be missing and no-one official will know what happened to the money! More new multi-millionaires will be created than at any previous time in history.

I think you are right. Bullion will be in demand as the ONLY store of value. But, where to keep it? One can't put it in a bank. Unless you are prepared to trust their records!!!
