Funny you mention that Tim. I taught university at a US school for five years. I used to start off my undergraduate Sociology and Business (depending on the course) courses with that theme. An increased life span has tremendous impact both socially and materially. I'd go back 80 years (teaching 20 year old students) and look at life expectancy vs. technology in 1915. Then I'd go forward 80 years and have them imagine life expectancy vs. technology in 2075. Suddenly my hypothesis that they would all live to at least 120 years of age and should plan accordingly didn't seem so outrageous. I figure our generation should see 100 years of age at least. Hopefully you and I will connect before we hit the century mark. Telephone tag to date.
