A trip to Jiffy Lube for an oil change takes about 20 minutes. Therefore, empirical evidence suggests a jiffy to be between 3 and 20 minutes. Perhaps you were referring to a milli-jiffy of maybe the Biblical Jiffy, which was the time it took a Cannanite to cover one cubit while being chased by a Hittite. Then there are the scientific measures nano-jiffy and pico-jiffy which surely are enough for a separate post. -Robert <g>
