Hi Jeffry, For a while there, I wasn't so sure my choice was right for being long OMQP, but it looks okay now. OMQP was thrown in with other off-road machinery companies and beaten up. It has a small amount of export business, but if they're going to whack Caterpillar, they might as well whack OmniQuip, too! Just another case of throwing out the baby with the bath water.

For OMQP, I think housing starts and other construction related indicators are probably more reliable. But when sectors rotate, there's no logic!!

Best regards, Tom

Today's drop in interest rates should keep housing and commercial construction going. That should be good for OMQP's business. I drove past their Port Washington plant today and the yard is very full of finished equipment, so shipments should be good this qtr. About half the inventory is military with the rest being commercial equip.

Best regards, Tom
