jhg: A Link To What Remains One Of The Best Recent Articles...

Here's something that has been seen before, but is worth
looking at again. It's point-counterpoint Computerworld article
that pits Bobby Cameron of Forrester against Richardson at
AMR. It highlights the continuing weaknesses of ERP... especially
the Planning function and sets up a concept that Forrester calls
"dynamic trade," but, is, in essence, what ITWO's e-BPO is all
about.

It also sets up the oldest argument in the space: best of breed
vs. integration. SAP argues for integration, saying you don't need
best of breed, you just need something that goes well with what
you've already got.

Happy reading. Hope this helps further clarify the concepts.
