Cool Apps Contest Searches for Most Powerful IP Telephony Applications

pulver.com, Dialogic Corporation, ITXC to Recognize and Reward Industry's Best

MELVILLE, NY, December 17, 1998 -- pulver.com, Dialogic Corporation, and ITXC Corp. announced today they are organizing a
Cool Apps contest that will search out and reward today's most powerful IP telephony applications. The contest is supported
by a wide forum of industry experts, led by a distinguished five-member judging panel that includes Joe Rinde of MCI Worldcom,
Chris Bajorek of CT Labs, Louis Trager from Interactive Week and representatives from other key corporations and
standards bodies. The awards will be announced at pulver.com's Spring '99 Voice on the Net Conference ( pulver.com ).

''1999 will be the Year of the Application in the Internet telephony industry,'' explained Jeff Pulver, President and CEO of
pulver.com.'' In its brief history, Internet telephony has progressed from the Year of the Hobbyist in 1995, through the Year of
the IP Telephony Client, the Year of the Gateway, and in 1998, to the Year of the Gatekeeper.

''I'm sticking my neck out a little by declaring 1999 as the Year of the Application,'' Pulver said. ''Frankly, once arbitrage
opportunities start to erode, service providers will need to differentiate their service offerings to sustain themselves in a highly
competitive marketplace with low profit margins. As the Internet telephony industry continues to evolve, 1999 will be the ideal
year for application developers to start rolling out 'X over IP' services to help service providers offer products and services that
were never before practical or possible.''

The Cool Apps contest has three categories, with separate prizes for each:

Public Network Enhanced Services Applications - Hardware or software products that are already available or in trial,
used for convergence of data networking technology with voice technology. Applications must be used for convergence
of data networking technology with voice technology. Applications must be used in a public network environment,
outside a customer premise. The winning product will receive a 10' x 10' booth space at the Fall '99 Voice on the Net
(VON) show in Atlanta-a $4,250 value - plus a cooler.

Customer Premise Applications - Products meeting the same qualifications as public network enhanced services
applications (above), but for use on customer premises serving multiple clients. The winner will receive a 10' x 10' booth
space at the Fall '99 VON show in Atlanta plus a cooler.

End-User Implementations - End-user implementations of voice or fax over IP from companies currently using IP
telephony in their work environment. The winner will receive two round-trip airline tickets from anywhere in the U.S. to
Atlanta to attend Fall '99 VON together with two free passes to the show, and a cooler.

To qualify, products must be either available now or at least in trial use. Winners will be announced during the Spring '99 VON
show the week of April 13 - 16. Entries will be accepted now through March 10, 1999. For entry information, visit the
pulver.com Web site at pulver.com.
