Rick, you can go to www.daytraders.org to find a complete list of othernet servers. Here are a couple:

Jackson.MS.US.othernet.org
irc.othernet.org
austin.tx.us.othernet.org

While I agree one needs to be careful concerning pump and dump (or so called channel plays), I get a lot out of lurking in #daytraders. Concerning the dump end of a 'channel play', that's why they invented short selling.
