TLC, Just remember that margin money is borrowed money, you
are paying interest

Minor consolation, Margin interest is considered investment interest and is deductible against capital gains.

TLC,

Seems like very sound advice and guidance. Although I personally resist borrowing and debt in general, I do feel a margin account would benefit me. Even though the market has been very kind to most of us the last few months, I have found myself cash poor at times and selling good positions for what I feel are even better positions. Although this system has not really failed me, there was no strong reason to be selling either. Would also plan on limiting what I purchase on margin to a relatively low percentage of my portfolio.

Do you think I have my eye on the ball, or is this out in left field somewhere?

Thanks again,

DW
