Pat,

What thinkest thou of the rumor of the SST that came with the rumor of Avenger?...SST ten times V2.

You found it first...but for those that may have missed it...

Best Regards,
Jim

P.S. The new Creative WIN9X drivers fixed all the problems I had with Banshee...some mouse problems and it seems to have a faster feel.

For the record, "3 times more powerful" begs the question "3 times more powerful than WHAT? under what conditions? How?"

Is that 3 times as powerful on CERTAIN games, run at the lowest resolution in 16 bpp on a P2-450 overclocked to 600?

Is this "new technology" a die shrink able to run at much higher core clock? are the instructions merely divided and conquered by several similar "current generation" chips? Or is it radically new technology?

Are developers aware of this new technology? Will games be optimized for it in the near future? Or is there some other compelling reason to dump V2-SLI for the latest greatest?

Is three times faster than V2 the same as 50% faster than SLI?

Is it three times as fast, but lacking all the other good stuff people want like hard DVD support, tv-out, 32 bpp color, real AGP support?

WHEN IT SHIPS, WILL IT HAVE DRIVERS THAT WORK?

Just looking at how many ways a product intro can get screwed here...
