Re: "#1) 70s is only 50% yield. That number is well below the yield Intel achieved on the 0.25um Pentium and PentiumII."

Max, try and remember... You're the one who came up with that 70s number, not me. If you're argueing with that number then you're argueing with yourself...It's not healthy to argue with yourself Maxwell.. It could get ugly and punches could be thrown....

If your numbers are to low then any higher yield number would make Intel's costs lower and their margins even higher.

Re: "Microprocessor Report estimates that the cost of CeleronA is $64, $70 for PII, and $45 for K6-2. Thus you are wrong."

Well if the PII cost is only $6 higher than the Celeron and it has the added cost of SRAM, tag ram and a more expensive card with all the resistors and such, the yield must be just as bad to make the die cost roughly equal to the Celeron, don't you think? And even with a much smaller die!!! Test costs must also be significantly higher for the PII with a much greater pincount and backside bus needing testing at a much higher speed than the Celeron. Multiple socketings needed both on and then on the card. All this and only $6 higher! Those guts at MPR must really know what they're talking about thiugh...

Re: "My friend's numbers are very precise. My friend also gave me Intel's process flow and all the critical parameters. I do not have to share with you since it doesn't do you any good. "

My my. I have a new found respect for you Maxwell! There is no longer any question in my mind how accurate your information really is!!! You are indeed a lucky fellow to have access to this inside information when poor guys like me can only wonder. Thanks for sharing :-)
