Just on thing red, K14 is very complex, consisting of K14, K14A, K14B, K14C, if K14 proves to be better than 0.30carats/ton, they will need to sample the rest of the members of the K14 complex, HUGE TONNAGE for sure, now all we need is good percentage of gem quality diamonds.

Could be an interesting week, especially if the rumour on the Montello thread has any truth to it!!! We'll know by the action tomorrow!!!

Regards

John

>>>PS Frank has said 150 carats in the 500t sample will be good but I disagree with that and if that is all they have in that sample aca is heading back to 1 buck no doubt about it.<<<

First of all it is 150 carats per 450 ton which works out to 30carats per 100t. Red, you may not understand the objective of this exercise! Ashton is looking for a profitable mine.. Therefore, it is my understanding that if they find 30 carats per 100t, with good size distribution and good quality, they are going to proceed to 3000-5000T and a valuation of the stones, If Ashton was expecting your counts, I don't think they would have spent millions in extracting 450t. For all lurkers, it is a fact that if Ashton confirms counts has good as the mini bulk sampling, it is going to continue with K14.
Many of the analysts I have spoken to JK, Brian Fagan, Sudhir, Lou Paquette, etc all understand the difference in infrastructure and would be happy with the numbers I expect. YOU CAN'T COMPARE IT TO NWT!!!! It cost way more to develop and operate a mine in NWT. Jesse, where are you? Now, it is possible that higher numbers will be reported and that will be an extreme bonus. I just don't want lurkers to be misinformed thinking that if we don't get numbers expected by Red's post that the K14 pipe is a dud. Is K14 the best pipe in Alberta? Possibly not! More will be found.. However, K14 may be a pipe to keep in inventory. IMO, if anyone following these posts and have a position on Ashton on speculation that Ashton will report numbers greater than .80 carat per ton, you better sell your stock fast because your expectation is way off line. The end result is that we are looking for a mine. This 450t sample will decide if a decent number of huge stones are recovered, consistent or better counts than K14 mini bulk, size distribution and quality of stones. If we meet these conditions, Ashton and JV's will value the stones and proceed to 3000-5000 bulk sampling in 1999. Lets not forget that any good size gem quality color stones recovered will increase the value....
Yes, higher numbers are possible but let's be conservative and anything else will be a bonus.

Happy Investing... .

Fast Frank

I disagree RED...
Ashton's Argyle mine is 2.81c/ton, BUT the value is only $8.00 / Carat as they are industrial stones..
Figure it out, ........ they got a mine operating on $22.48 PER TON VALUE.........
Hello!!!!!!!! IF WE ONLY HAVE 40c/100t = .4c/ton at lets say the lowest possible value per carat of $60.00 / carat, that equals $24.00 / ton value...more than Argyle and Argyle IS a PROFITABLE MINE.....
Now add in some fancy stones, and better than the lowest valuation in the world for gem quality stones, lotsa other kims in the neighbourhood and voila!!!!!!!! shaka da bag and whadaya get.... ACA=vrrrrroooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmm lookout J.Glenn.
