Why would you expect there to be a negative reaction - Bezos is just suggesting that commercial concerns share information on their customers the way doctors do -- you know, like : "I found that after I diagnose a patient with diabetes, they're much more receptive to suggestions about weight loss. You've got that lucrative weight loss clinic -- how about I sell you my list of diabetic patients?" And he's counting on people actually being eager to be exploited like that.

Bezos "vision" -- part Amway, part Publishers Clearing House -- is really stunning in its shallowness. Leave it to a 34 yr-old investment banker to come up with something like that.
