Banco, thank you for that commentary. There has always been a strong First World v. Third World component reflected in the price of gold.

The First World has been on an eighteen year extended vacation. And by the look of recent strength of the dollar, the stock market, and Greenspan's and Rubin's comments, looks as though the First World thinks its safe again.

But look for lots of shoes dropping over the coming months. The markets haven't yet figured out the politicians have chosen inflation, as they always do.

banko$,
great find! thanks! so, I'm not nuts! others have seen it - the manipulation of gold prices. PBS also saw the manipulation. You know, (to me)it is not that the price was manipulated as much as it was that they let their friends profit from it.
In the last week, I've been called "dangerous" for even thinking these things. Is PBS dangerous also?
