What I am saying is that I doubt if Dell will move the earnings announcement at all. Does anyone have a reason to think something like this could happen?

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 1998--
Broadened Dell/Oracle Relationship Delivers Value to Customers by
Lowering Implementation Costs, Simplifying Enterprise Database
Delivery.

Dell Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today announced it will begin shipping Oracle Corporation's Oracle8(tm) and Oracle8 Enterprise Edition database software, factory-installed on Dell's PowerEdge(R) enterprise servers.

Dell, the No. 2 supplier of servers in the United States and No. 4 supplier worldwide(1), is the first major systems company to provide Oracle's industry-leading database software factory-installed on its servers, offering customers a single-source for current and upcoming versions of Oracle's enterprise-class database solutions. By installing Oracle's latest Windows NT(R)-based software on Dell(R) PowerEdge servers at the factory, Dell will help customers enhance the efficiency and reliability of their information technology (IT) deployments, saving time and money by providing systems that are pre-configured, tested and ready for implementation.

"Companies of all sizes around the world tell us they need industry-leading technology, ease of use, low cost and superior services," said Michael Rocha, senior vice president of Oracle Platform Technologies. "That's exactly what Dell will deliver when you point your browser to www.dell.com and order Oracle, pre-configured on Dell PowerEdge servers. This joint initiative is evidence of Oracle's commitment to make our enterprise-proven technology available and affordable to all."

Dell's effort to factory install Oracle8 is designed to provide an additional level of service with a single point of contact, especially for customers who deploy Dell PowerEdge servers to multiple geographic locations or businesses with constrained technical staffs or budget resources. Dell is also the first vendor to provide leading-edge tools to help ease implementation, such as the Oracle System Sizer for Dell. Available at no charge from www.dell.com, the Oracle System Sizer for Dell helps in the deployment of database servers by recommending what system and size disk a customer should buy based on their business needs.

"Dell's work with Oracle is a strong example of our commitment to raise the bar on the level of solutions we provide our customers," said Michael Lambert, senior vice president of Dell's Enterprise Systems Group. "Through this and other factory-install programs, Dell is helping its customers improve the efficiency of their IT deployments, while also helping them reduce the total costs of owning and managing their systems."

Today's announcement continues to broaden the scope of the strategic alliance between Oracle and Dell, and the advantages that have come from the implementation of dedicated business units within both companies focused on engineering, testing, performance tuning, service and support and joint field marketing and sales programs. Customers who want to run Oracle applications on Dell's PowerEdge servers can feel assured that these solutions are ready for almost any computing environment, as Dell's servers are the base development platform for many NT-based Oracle products including Oracle8.

Ranked No. 125 among the Fortune 500 companies and No. 363 in the Fortune Global 500, Dell Computer Corporation is the world's leading direct computer systems company, based on revenues of $15.2 billion for the past four quarters.
