Purchasing for Consumers, Accelerates
Electronic Commerce Initiative

MasterCard to Promote Initiative Via National Broadcast and Print Advertising

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Excite, Inc. (Nasdaq: XCIT - news) todayunveiled Excite Express Order,
a simple e-commerce purchasing solution that lets users buy merchandise from a variety of retailers with a few clicks of a
mouse. Functioning as a virtual credit card wallet for consumers, Excite Express Order lets shoppers enter billing information
once and use it repeatedly to buy merchandise quickly and easily from trusted, quality retailers on Excite.

Electronic Commerce Cornerstone Strategy for Portal

Building another cornerstone of Excite's electronic commerce strategy, the service recognizes high standards of safety and
consumer ease of buying on the Web. The first portal to offer a simple buying system for consumers, Excite Express Order is
available immediately in Excite's Holiday Shoppe at www.excite.com. The broad initiative will be supported by Excite's preferred payment sponsor, MasterCard, with national broadcast and print advertising aimed at educating consumers about online shopping.

For the inaugural launch of Excite Express Order, Excite has teamed up with an advance group of interested retailers to build a
comprehensive, easy-to-use shopping environment for consumers. In the coming months, Excite expects to add more merchant partners, building out other popular categories for purchasing. Working in conjunction
with Excite's Certified Merchant Program, the company pre-screens all participating merchants for excellent customer service, prompt notification and delivery of purchases and a trusted environment for customer credit card information.

How to Shop With Excite Express Order

Starting today, shoppers can safely and quickly use Excite Express Order to buy hundreds of items and holiday gifts from Excite's participating retailers. A broad array of pre-selected seasonal gift items have been chosen to launch the service, including what may be the most expensive gift available online this season, a $90,000 Lalique crystal table from Gump's.

Consumers register with Excite Express Order when they purchase their first product by filling out the simple one page registration form with their preferred billing, shipping and credit card information, and choose a custom user name and password. With one click, users can then quickly and securely send complete billing and shipping information directly to participating retailers each time they're ready to purchase a product. As an added benefit, Excite has incorporated Excite Express Order registrations into its personalized front page registration system. Once a user has registered for Excite Express Order, Excite will remember who they are and automatically personalize their front page to include a variety of news, local weather and television listings, daily horoscopes and more.

''Past online shopping experiences forced consumers to jump around the Web, visit dozens of sites to find only a few items on their shopping lists and continuously re-enter their billing and credit card information each time they wanted to buy an item,'' said Andy Halliday, Vice President, Commerce, Excite, Inc. ''Excite is simplifying the process, bringing together great retailers, a wide selection of products and a fast, easy and secure ordering system in order to give consumers a more streamlined shopping experience.''
