I'm floored by this news. Despite being such a GMGC booster, I really didn't expect an e-commerce deal of this magnitude so soon. Talk about delivering. Markman is a genius. And where there is one deal in one domain (financial services), there are other deals in other domains (real estate, travel, corporate sales ...). Soon the market will realize that GMGC is a firm like AOL or Netscape or Apple - destined to change the world. Good luck to us all. Sea Otter

Thinking big, indeed! This announcement came as a complete surprise to me, and really only proves out earlier contentions and speculations as to the widespread potential applicability of this technology. Your comment as to favorite snippet hits the nail on the head...being the "de-facto standard" is all-important at this stage. I've recently seen an article in the San Jose Mercury in re a consortium founded by the the Big Six automotive mfrs, called AMIC, Automotive Multimedia Interface Consortium, who will define the interfaces etc., to outfit cars of the future with "plug-and-play" capabilities for such things as entertainment centers, GPS systems, etc.... with a VUI as contoller. If in fact GMGC is or becomes the de-facto standard... oh man! The long-term implications boggle the imagination! VUI's for.... TV and stereo remote controllers... home heating and A/C control......and oh! the ultimate speculation.... Windows with a VUI from General Magic! Anybody care to add to this list? Keep the faith! -rv
