IBM's Lotus Unit Recaptures Lead in E-Mail System Sales

According to EMMS (Electronic Mail & Messaging Systems, a Washington D.C. Marketing firm), IBM sold 3.4 M licenses for Lotus Notes last quarter vs. 3.2 M for Microsoft Exchange.

According to the article, because of bundling, it is very difficult to know how many holders of Notes or Exchange are actually users (Exchange is bundled with BackOffice).

Very interesting rounding!

Interesting that the analyst's rationale is 23 x next year's earnings estimates of $7.65. Hmmmm. Doing the math, shows us
23 x 7.65 = $175.95

Sure, let's round up and call it $180! Sounds good to me, especially since these "share targets" tend to become self-fulfilling prophecies.
