Pallisard: I doubt a seat of the board was somehow predicated on a contract. MCI doesn't have any DIRECT product line that would benefit from VLNC's products. They're primarily an LD provider....well....at least up until WCOM acquired them. Now they've also got a goodly local service footprint, too. However, MCI-WCOM does have an OEM arrangement with NT(amongst others), so maybe...... Bottom Line? At Bert Roberts level the idea of networking takes on a whoooole different meaning, so I'm quite sure he can bring TONS of visibility to our little VLNC. Regards! John~

Bert Roberts gets an option to buy 100k shares at today's closing price. This is the standard deal for directors (per the vlnc annual report). I reckon Bert's a busy guy but apparently he believes it worth his while to serve on VLNC's BoD. Don't know how many hours/year that requires, but I expect Bert's hourly rate is a bit higher than my own, and i guess he's expecting to get paid for his time! There can't be any 'hidden' deal with MCI. They would not be able to execute part of a deal without announcing the whole thing. I think this definitely confirms that some kind of contract for VLNC's batteries will happen in the near future. I don't expect it to be announced at the CC, but Comdex next week is still a possibility, imo. Even if not, at this point i can wait!
