Hi Ice, you seem to be a knowledgeable guy. Do you know the name of the person/people who decided that Cobol only needed two digits to express years? I think we should name the party in his honor. I guess he probably would rather not, in light of the fact that he would be vulnerable to crazies. Still, I think all great blunders deserve their own hall of fame. Kind of like they celebrate Donner Pass at University of Colorado, do I have that right?

A computer scientist whose opinion I respect made some comments
about Y2K recently. She said very seriously that she wasn't
going to be flying in the year 2000. (I didn't ask precisely how
long... there's got to be some point after a few months or a year
when most of the bugs have been flushed out...) Anyway, that made
me sit up and take notice. (Airline analysts should, too!)
