I spoke with two retailers today and they tell me they will be ordering more product from Iomega. They expect demand to pick up and keep pace with the expected increased demand in PC sales.

Rocky - what evidence do you have that the OEM drives are currently being sold at a loss. The most recent information that I have is from the second quarter conference call. At that time the gross margin was negative but adding one disk sale drove it into positive territory.

More significantly, the newer models (12.7 mm notebook drive and the ATAPI 2 drive) would improve margins as well as the overall cost cutting measures. Given that the cost reductions have been effective to date and are expected to continue, do you have any evidence that your 'loss on every OEM sale' mantra is still true. I think times have changed and would be surprised if they are still selling at a loss!
