Well, they're at it again...
So many trades going off at the bid at very small volumes, some under 1000. This looks like MM accumulation in advance of some upward pressure, perhaps some news? Note that when the spread was so tight and volume per trade respectable, the price gained slowly. These MM exchanges on tiny volume are designed to lower the ask from the general public, or make market orders fly into their hands.

Can there be another reason for this action?

All the best,
M.

Hi RWB. I see this happen all the time and the only thing I can figure is that someone placed a sell order at market price and that would be the “bid”. And just prior to the execution of that order a lower bid price preceded the sell order and it sold for the lowest bid offered. Who really knows? Michael said “These MM exchanges on tiny volume are designed to lower the ask from the general public, or make market orders fly into their hands” in his post # 7923, this could be one of the reasons.

As I said before the BB stocks are controlled by market makers. It is interesting to note that FNTN did close at 0.93 up 0.038 or 4.26%. The last ask was 0.93 and bid was 0.891. I for one do not let this get to me especially when I know it is an excellent stock like FNTN is. I really believe that FNTN is in for a good rebound in the days to come. And as Helene said a slow steady climb (with a few downsides along the way) is always the best way to travel.

Regards,

Bill Fortune III

RWB, also it could be the online broker only accepts
fractions and not decimals and 7/8 would be the closest.
Even E*Trade only went to allowing decimals not too many
weeks ago. Or could be if they use E*Trade they don't
know yet they can use decimals. I didn't know until I
read it in a posting on SI myself.
