DELL accounted for all of NASDAQ's increase for the day. A 5% increase in DELL causes NASDAQ to go up about 0.2% by my calculations (assuming total NASDAQ capitalization at 2 trillion and DELL at 80 billion).

Good News on a Wed Morning:
I just got my investor's monthly from Fidelity: it is a Standard and Poor's stock discussion.
It says:
S&P's Technology Group's top picks in the computer hardware area include Dell Computer, Cisco Systems and IBM.
Dell has the capability of leveraging its direct business model to continue to grow its market share and earnings at a faster pace than its peers. It has limited exposure to troubled areas of the globe and could become a beneficiary of the push to upgrade PC's to make them Y2k compliant. The shares in the meantime are trading at a discount to our estimate of the company's earnings growth rateprojected over the next two to three years.

End of quote.
And in line with the Year 2000 fix and DELL I heard the CEO of a small company based in So. Cal on the radio and he said his company has the most successful hardware-fix solution (to align system clock, bios clock and monitor clock ?) and DELL Computer Campany had first rights to his company's products (for building the computers: the products are and will also be sold in stores.)
