jlallen - you don't really think Reno is going to push for an IC on this do you? Now that Bill has established his personal discretion as justification for lying under oath, there is little anyone can charge him with that will stick to the degree Republicans will have the guts to do anything about.

Today, Clinton could walk out into the street and gun down Ken Starr in cold blood and the apologists would say he was only expressing his personal outrage -- all the while "doing a good job."

The penalty will hit Gore, not Clinton. And we can safely assume Reno isn't going to risk alienating the party's next likely candidate by making it harder for him to get elected. She couldn't get appointed dog-catcher if she contributes to the party's failure to hold on to the white house.

I don't expect leopards to change their spots.

Besides, who in their right mind would want an IC job? It's a one-way ticket to Clinton/media-induced hell.
