Tip, I did great with the IIX puts straight, while the paired trade sucked wind, but the premiums have really gotten enormous. I think I will go after individual names this time.

If the airlines go up, I will use the index again. I usually buy the sector index when I don't have anything to bring to the party. For example, I rarely use the Sox because I think MU is a much worse stock than ADI and I can bring that reasoning to individual issues. But all the airlines look alike to me.

In general, I much prefer individual issues because I always have the option to put or call if I get in the mood, or to wait for stock or a short. Plus, I think individual issues give you more bang for the buck.
