Yes, and it seems that we're seeing a co-ordinated move by Sprint and CDG to "push ahead" with CDMA 2000 coinciding with this announcement. 3G harmonization would also be an efficient way for MSFT to get a crack at the entire market,no?...DMG

It's great to see the service providers finally moving. Sprint said they will deploy first half of 1999. I hope the deployment will be nationwide.

It's interesting that BellSouth and AT&T Wireless are participating. They have a head start in wireless data but I think they will come e under tremendous pressure once CDMA carriers start offering data.
