dennis, there are three analysts whose opinion I respect because of their track record and longevity in the markets ... Ralph Acampora, John Murphy, and Abbey Cohen. What matters to me is that a significant divergence does not exist among the three of them relative to market perspective.

Thanks so much for sharing Favors and Carpino's updates, I've posted how I intend to treat the market regardless of what the gurus say. Ibexx has an investment philosophy of which I endorse, the key is stock selection and overall market context. Given the first two, if one cannot weather a drawdown when the timing is off as one catches a falling knife, than all is for naught. So it really depends on one's risk tolerance and finances and time frame. I also differentiate investing from trading. For instance, I posted re: INTC ... investors should accumulate between 65-85 and not sweat the flux, wait for INTC's new chip cycle in '99. Traders can trade the flux between the range 65-95 a half dozen times while investors play golf and wait for INTC to take off. Different temperaments, different criteria ... does it matter whether one makes 15-25 percent per trade per 1-2 months or make a two-bagger in a few years? It's a matter of what works for the individual.

Nothing is black and white and there is no free lunch whether one invests or trades the market.
