Corporate America is rife with this type of atrocity all over US. It is nothing new. During the downturn, they search for the guilty - punish the innocent and reward all the non-participants and the old boys club and minions keep perpetuating! Wall street thinks cutbacks and layoffs turn things around! They use words like re-engineering! It is bull shit - we all know it. For high tech companies with short product cycles, it is not possible to train workers in such a short time! So they have to get workers who walk on water!- Come in, fix everything and leave at the end of the cycle. This doesn't happen often. There are so many Fortune 500 companies, with management that doesn't understand how things work! They are good at issuing "Vision" and "Mission" statements. Even for that they hire consultants! That is why even if they leave, it doesn't hurt anything - because good chunk of them are not needed at all! As an investor, you should buy low and sell high to turn a profit. Otherwise be like Warren Buffet - pick companies with long term prospects and sound management, buy on dips and hold them for a long time. VLSI is definitely not a Warren Buffet type company! Otherwise Buffet would have bought into it! It is for us bargain hunters as long as its P/E and P/S are low. If it hits 6, I am buying 5 times as much as I own now! In a few months it will hit 20+, which to me is the fair value for this stock.
