James, you are making the mistake of using outdated info provided by Yahoo.com in calculating Yahoo, Inc. mkt cap. As of 9-30-98, according to Yahoo earnings report, outstanding shares = 114.456 million, not 93.7 million, as Yahoo finance suggests, even though the Yahoo finance profile page for Yahoo was updated 11-5-98, well after the last earnings report.

Current mkt cap of YHOO = $18.86 Billion, not $15.430 billion. But, what's a few billion here or there between 'net stocks? Sorry to be so fussy.
