Well, I am happy too. I never imagined my position
that I bought at 20 5/8 before the dip down to 10
would come back to life so soon.

As for why the run, it looks like E*Trade is making
a lot of deals and there seems to be some kind of
initiative to make sure that some positive story
hits the wires everyday. It might also be that
the stock has changed hands from those who were
looking for a profitable company to those who
are making an "internet play".

Frank, I am very happy with the stock performance. In fact I am in black after a long time. It is just that, my experience has shown, sometimes I speak too soon, So...

I am impressed with E*Trade initiatives; I wish E*Trade will keep on taking new initiatives;

Sometimes I feel E*Trade should have a plan like : Pay $29.95/ while buying/shorting for the first time; Then if one is selling/covering at a loss make it commission free; Else charge 9.95 or 19.95/-;;; For each trade at 29.95, customer can be eligible for one free trade...

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks for your patience,
DB

<quiet thread and EGRP>

Yes quiet. I think the run-up has several components
1. Good Press, Mutual Fund by E*Trade and all that
2. Favorable recent performance and satisfaction surveys and
ratings.
3. Their advertising campaign is starting to bear fruit and
they have garnered more customers/users
4. Rumors of mergers and co-operative deals
5. Favorable analyst reports--at least not downgrades

Whatever it is, I like it. You ??
